Aquaventure

Aquaventure

If you really want to visit something special while staying in Dubai, then you should not miss visiting the famous Aquaventure. Dubai Aquaventure is currently one of the most important and superb attractions of Dubai.

Dubai Aquaventure is easy to find, as it is located on the one and only hotel, which is located on the outer rim or the world–famous Palm Jumeirah Island. This island is the one and only operating artificial palm-shaped island, located next to the downtown of Dubai, as part of the Jumeirah District where also the New Dubai part with the huge ultra-modern skyscrapers can be found. Getting to Palm Jumeirah Island is the easiest with the Monorail, the stop of which you can easily find when you go on the Red Line and take off at Nakheel Station.

The Aquaventure had opened in 2009, as part of the opening Atlantis, The Palm Hotel and Resort, which is unbelievably huge! Atlantis, the Palm is the big brother of the Hotel Atlantis Paradise Island located in Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas. If you see, their looks too are quite similar. Atlantis has been specifically built on the outer rim of the island complex, so everyone gets the unbelievable view to the sea, no matter where his or her rooms are located within the hotel. Aquaventure contains numerous attractions that are great for the family. Of course, being a water park means that Aquaventure offers numerous water attractions.

Its pools have lots of slides, water and river slides of every size, and the main motive of the whole Aquaventure is its Ziggurat Pool. The Ziggurat Pool is simply picturesque! It symbolises the South American Ziggurats having the same look, and it is located at a pool in which sharks gather. What a sight! If you slide down from the Ziggurat, you will get the feeling to slide into the pool where sharks are waiting for you. Ultimately, it turns out that your destination is under the pool as you slide into a tube, leading you underwater, where you feel you could even touch those beautiful huge fishes. There are special pools for the little children where they can have a happy time playing with the family. In addition, if you had enough of the pools, then you can visit the beachside of Aquaventure, the private beach of the resort. Atlantis Resort also has a dive centre over here, so if you feel like learning how to dive, it is a great chance for you to enrol in one of the courses.

The main superb attraction of Aquaventure is its Lost Chamber segment. If we notice the name of the hotel, we see it is called Atlantis. Well, the name is not only born out of fantasy, but indeed, it seems that this part of Dubai has relation with the ancient lost continent. During the excavations, while building the Palm Jumeirah Island, together with the huge Atlantis Resorts, the excavators revealed a high number of never-seen ruins, wearing the signs of a culture, being different from the Arabic culture. According to our recent knowledge about the culture and way of life in the Atlantis, the scientists have come out with their fix theory that the ruins originate from the Lost Continent. Among the findings, there are also remains of ancient streets and houses. In addition, there are some remains of vases and other tools. The Lost Chamber is built under the water, and it is like a labyrinth. Once you walk inside, you will get the feeling to be in an entirely different world, under the water, surrounded by the beautiful fishes. It is really an amazing experience leaving you without words. You walk under the water, and you will see the ruins of ancient street lines, even some part of houses have remained! Moreover, this exhibition is all under water. You cannot imagine how unbelievable it can be!

The Lost Chamber also contains a great virtual exhibition telling you about the culture of Atlantis and on the remains found during the excavations, showing you around each part of the Lost Chamber. Not forgetting about the children, there are some special playful teaching courses for them about the Lost Chambers and the culture of the Lost Continent, the Atlantis. It is really a must-visit place. Interesting to note that, you will also get to see the miniature of the Hydropolis, one of the most unbelievable architectural dreams ever planned. It is the dream of an underwater hotel, for the realisation of which the human being is still not able to do. Therefore, the miniature has sunk back into the water, to keep the memory of this outrageous plan.

Other part of Aquaventure is the huge Dolphin Bay, where you get the chance to see all the widest and most beautiful species of fishes even while they are swimming under the water. Here, there are all types of fishes from small to big and will leave you with an unforgettable memory. Unfortunately, Dolphin Bay has a bad memory attached to it, which people may forget in a couple of years. It happened with the starting of Aquaventure and Dolphin Bay complexes. When they were collecting all the fishes that would belong to the attractions of both the Bay and Aquaventure Lost Chambers part, they also collected a dolphin. Knowing about the dolphin through tourists, the animal rights activists started several growing protests against the operation of Atlantis Resort. Luckily, the dolphin had been released back to the sea, ever since, but the memory is still not completely over. Since then, Dubai has been changing its politics regarding animals, and does all its best to provide all the aquariums with enough space for the fishes and enough food for them.
