Blue Waters Island is the proposed development of an Island in one of the most popular tourist destination in the world, Dubai. The project is already approved by the ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The project will be developed by Merass Holding, and Blue Waters Island will be situated off the coast of Jumeirah Beach Residence. Dubai Eye, the ferris wheel unveiled by Meraas Holding will be situated at Blue Waters Island. The aim of the project is to attract more visitors to Dubai which is in a construction spree to enhance tourism sector in Dubai.
Blue Waters Island in Dubai will consists of residential areas, retail stores, entertainment zones, and hospitality zones. The project is situated near Dubai Marina, and it will cost 6 billion Dhs. According to market research, over three million visitors will be visiting this island after its completion. The construction of the island will be starting on April, 2013. Dubai’s vision and mission is to become a global leader in the tourism sector after the completion of Blue Waters Island. The island will consist of a souk with dining outlets that serve a great variety of local and international cuisines.
The expected completion of Blue Waters Island in Dubai is two years. The connection between the island and mainland will be established by means of a mono rail system. The mono rail will be between the Entertainment Zone and RTS Metro. Other means of transport from the island to Dubai mainland are cable car and pedestrian bridge to Jumeirah beach residence beachfront. Large tourist complexes are also planned to build in the island. The island will offer a five-star hotel for tourist accommodation. Dubai has already finished several projects that can be considered as architectural wonders to attract tourists to Dubai.
