If we can call Jumeirah Beach the Heart of Dubai, then the Sheikh Zayed Road has all the reasons to be named the main artery of not only Dubai, but also the whole United Arab Emirates. Most of the main modern and ultramodern attractions and many of Dubai’s strategically important buildings and skyscrapers are all situated along the Sheikh Zayed Road, the road of highest importance in Dubai.

The Sheikh Zayed Road crosses the whole downtown of Dubai, giving a great chance for everyone to explore the modern parts of Dubai. Along the Sheikh Zayed Road lies the trademark building of Dubai, the huge and magnificent Burj Al Arab Hotel, which everyone knows by the numerous ads or touristic brochures advertising the attractions of Dubai. The huge World Trade Centre complex is also situated on the Sheikh Zayed Road, with the Emirates Towers and the Burj Khalifa just nearby. The Sheikh Zayed Road also finds the brand new exclusive living-district, the Dubai Marina here. It is almost completed now, with its beautiful lagoons and countless ultramodern skyscrapers. It is definitely a must-see.

Sheikh Zayed Road, which is the longest road in the United Arab Emirates, stretches from the city of Abu Dhabi to Ras Al Khaimah, and runs parallel to the coastline along the Persian Gulf. This is the main road in some of the important cities in the UAE, where it is known by different names. It is known as Sheikh Maktoum Road in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, and Sheikh Muhammed bin Salem Road in Ras Al Khaimah.

Most of Dubai’s skyscrapers, including the Emirates Towers and the famous Burj Khalifa, are found along Sheikh Zayed Road. It connects the newly developed areas such as the Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, and the Dubai Waterfront. This road, which is a ten-lane highway, with five roads on each side of a barrier, runs parallel to the coast, and is the newest modern business district of Dubai. The road stretches for 55 km from the Dubai World Centre roundabout to the border of Abu Dhabi. Many modern buildings and constructions, built mainly of glass, chrome, and steel, line the road on both the sides. The major attraction of the Sheikh Zayed Road is the area between the roundabout and the first intersection. You can have striking views of a number of tall high-rise buildings consisting of hotels, offices, shopping malls, and apartments.

There are a number of luxury 5-star hotels located on the stretch between the Dubai International Financial Centre and the Dubai World Trade Centre on this famous road. The Monarch Dubai is a luxury 5-star hotel located on this road. The 33 storey hotel offers an excellent and panoramic view of the city of Dubai as well as the Arabian Gulf. There is a brand new metro line completed just recently running along the Sheikh Zayed Road.
